Sixes Social Cricket Brighton describes itself as a virtual, immersive cricketing experience. Sounds pretty cool, right?
Although I am not hugely into cricket normally, when I heard Sixes was opening a new branch in Brighton, I was excited to try it out.
I love other virtual experiences like Flight Club (a cool London darts bar) and activity bars in general, so I was excited to see what this new destination had to offer.
I visited Sixes Social Cricket Brighton the week it opened to try my hand at virtual batting – here’s my complete review of the immersive cricket experience.

What is Sixes Social Cricket Brighton?
Sixes Social is a chain venue where you and a group of friends, family or colleagues can try your hand at batting against a virtual bowler.
Each player takes it in turn to enter the cricket batting cage, with different difficulty levels available.
Players aim for numbered targets around the cage and the player with the highest score at the end is the winner. Simple, right?
Sixes Social Cricket Brighton also has a bar serving cocktails and food, making it a great destination for a night out or some family fun.
Where is Sixes Social Cricket Brighton?
Sixes Social Cricket is part of the i360, Brighton’s iconic viewing platform on the beach front, opposite the West Pier. This great location is very central, only a 10-minute walk away from Brighton’s town centre and the main Palace Pier.
The Sixes Cricket Experience
I visited Brighton Sixes Social Cricket with my partner during its opening week in July. Here’s how our evening went!
We were instantly drawn in by the colourful and funkily decorated venue, with batting cages around the side and a huge bar in the middle.
We arrived slightly early so were given a table in the dining area to the right of the bar and grabbed a couple of drinks while we waited.
The batting cages looked very impressive. There were about four inside, and an additional two have been built in shipping cages outside of the venue since we went.
We booked a 30-minute session as there were two of us, but you can choose the length of your session.
They can also accommodate much larger groups (up to 400 if you can round up that many friends!)
When it was time for us to play, one of the staff members showed us to our batting cage and demonstrated how everything worked.
We entered our names onto an iPad outside the cage and chose our difficulty level. You can adjust this throughout the game so we had fun trying out the different levels, although the “Pro” level was definitely beyond us.
We took it in turns to enter the batting cage, where there were a selection of bats to choose from. When we were ready, a ball came out of the wall, made to look like it was being bowled by an actual person via the projection on the screen.
There are various places to aim the ball at, with different scores for each, including a high score if you can hit it above and behind your head (we didn’t manage this!)
There were a few issues with balls getting stuck and the screen freezing. The staff told us these were teething problems as all the equipment was new, so hopefully this is no longer an issue. They also added an extra 15 minutes on to our game to make up for the time we had missed while they fixed the issues.
Overall, we really enjoyed the virtual cricket experience at Sixes Brighton and I will definitely be returning with a bigger group.
As I don’t normally play cricket, I definitely appreciated being able to adjust the difficulty level and challenging myself as I got the hang of it. You don’t need any cricket skills to enjoy Sixes Brighton.

Food and drink at Sixes Social Cricket Brighton
The food and drink selection at Sixes Social Cricket Brighton was good and reasonably priced for what will surely be a popular venue. Food included pizza, burgers and other sharing plates.
The milkshakes also looked amazing and are a perfect choice for adults or children.
If you’re looking for alcohol, as well as a fully-stocked bar, they serve “shotbats” of 6 or 12 shots served on a cricket bat including baby Guinness and sambuca shots.
You can buy food and drink packages ahead of your visit, including kid’s party and bottomless brunch options.
How much does Sixes Social Cricket Brighton cost?
Prices vary depending on the time you visit, the length of your session and group size. As of August 2023, prices for a party of 4 are:
Adult off-peak (45 minutes): £7.75
Child off-peak (45 minutes): £5.25
Adult peak (45 minutes): £15.50
Child peak (45 minutes): £10.50
Overall, I think this is a great venue for Christmas parties, group-get togethers and kid’s parties. It’s family-friendly but also has a great bar offering if you want to have a few drinks. The location is very central meaning it can easily be part of a beach day or the start of a night out. Enjoy batting!
